A generation is being told that the future is digital, while many young people still share a borrowed phone and have never written a line of code. College names and English fluency often decide who enters tech long before talent does. Youth from low-income families watch the same internet everyone else uses, and still cannot afford a course, a laptop hour, or a mentor who will look at their work.
Gyaan is knowledge made reachable. This campaign funds a practical tech education pathway: foundations of web development, an introduction to app development, and clear, honest teaching about AI as a tool to understand and use, not as magic. We teach in a way that respects students who may be the first in their family to try this work. Classes are hands-on. Mentors review projects. We talk about internships and freelance beginnings without promising a Silicon Valley ending that we cannot guarantee.
NiVan Foundation does not treat this as a showpiece lab. We treat it as a door. Students need devices they can practise on, trainers who show up, internet that works in the classroom, and a certificate that reflects real assignments. They also need encouragement when the first webpage looks ugly, because everyone starts there.
Your donation pays for seats in that classroom: trainer time, lab access, learning materials, and mentorship hours. When a young person ships a small website or a simple app, something shifts. They are no longer only a consumer of technology. They are a maker. That is Gyaan: a skill with a future, offered with dignity.
Digital jobs are growing, but quality training in web, app, and AI basics remains expensive and clustered in private institutes. Youth from underprivileged households are shut out by fees, device access, and the absence of mentors. They are capable. The pathway is not. Without intervention, inequality in education becomes inequality in work. A practical, mentored course is necessary so talent is not wasted for lack of a login and a teacher.
Funds cover trainer fees, lab or device-access hours, internet and classroom costs, and structured learning materials for web, app, and AI-basics modules. A portion pays mentors who review student projects. Remaining funds support assessments, a completion certificate tied to real work, and coordination including outreach to youth who would never find a private bootcamp. Donations buy instruction and practice time, not gadgets for display.
We aim to enrol 40 youth in a structured tech cohort covering web foundations, introductory app development, and AI literacy. Students will complete guided projects, with at least 32 expected to finish the course and 24 to present a portfolio piece such as a webpage or simple app. Mentorship hours will support weekly reviews. Success is measured in completed projects, attendance, and students who can show work, not in inflated placement claims.
“I thought coding was for people from big colleges. In class I built a small website with my name on it. My mentor sat with the mistakes instead of rushing past them. I still have a long way to go. I finally have a start.”
Open a digital classroom for a young person who has been left outside it.
